Upcoming in the world of visual arts, the new Leah Arts District in Hialeah launches Sunday with a big block party, ArtCenter/South Florida features a scientist-artist collaboration, and graduating visual artists from Miami’s New World School of the Arts have a final exhibition.
▪ The new Hialeah Artist Live/Work Overlay District launches Sunday with a free community block party from 4 to 8 p.m. at 1501 E. 10th Ave., Hialeah. Live music, food trucks, complimentary beer and murals by artists Atomik, Abstrk, Derick G., Diana Contreras, Don Rimix, Ernesto Maranje, Junk Lainez, Mr. Dheo, Kazilla, NM Salgar and Trek 6 will introduce The Leah Arts District, geared toward making affordable and safe spaces available for artists to create.
